Experience

As a trained and accredited paper conservator, I am passionate about all things paper - from prints, drawings and watercolours to archives and historic wallpapers. I also have experience of associated materials and advise on the care of objects such as portrait miniatures, parchment, globes and fans. My focus is on the care and access to collections in historic houses, museums, galleries, archives and those in private hands. With specialist skills and knowledge I provide added value in opening up collections and enabling their stories to unfold.

Problem solving

I am particularly interested in paper based collections care, storage, handling and exhibition and display projects. With an understanding of both collections and the buildings in which they are housed, I take an holistic view, assessing situations, discussing your collection needs and options, problem solving and can provide you with cost effective, pragmatic and efficient solutions and recommendations - with an experienced eye and a good deal of common sense, I am also happy to roll up my sleeves and deal with on-site practical issues.

Delivering

I collaborate closely with colleagues and work alongside other members of the network to provide a complete service. I am flexible and happy to work on site across the UK, and beyond, or alternatively work remotely with you to assess requirements and develop solutions. I am well placed to design and deliver training packages to suit individual client and institutional needs. I believe my experience to date, a ‘can do’ attitude and good communication skills, that engender trust in those I engage with, make me the ideal consultant to take forward your projects.
